My undergraduate major was in psychology at Cornell University and I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. I completed my internship through the Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program and received additional clinical training through a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Boston, Massachusetts. I am a Colorado native and am happy to return to Colorado to continue my work as a clinical psychologist in my home state.
My therapy dog, Benji, helps to create an environment in which clients feel comfortable and cared for. He is a registered therapy dog and his training allows him to volunteer in select nursing homes, hospitals, and other organizations where he is needed. He is in training to become my assistant for animal-assisted psychotherapy and his warm and gentle presence during therapy puts my clients at ease.
My treatment approach is most appropriate for individuals who are experiencing a mild to moderate degree of distress in day-to-day life and struggling to cope with anxiety, relationship difficulties, compulsions, depression etc. My approach to therapy is not appropriate for individuals experiencing more significant/severe clinical distress such as those with chronic and/or currently ongoing suicidal thoughts; those with previous suicide attempts; those with severe/persistent clinical conditions.
I welcome new clients, and would like to connect with you over the phone for a free 20-minute phone consultation to discuss how therapy might best help you and to determine mutual fit. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, Benji and I look forward to getting to know you!
